Transition and Miracles

We have now been in Scotland for almost three months.  In some ways it feels longer and on other days it feels like we have just arrived as we navigate another culture in all its nuances.  It is over 25 years since I first left Scotland to go overseas so there is a lot to catch up on despite multiple visits in between. Family Update Simon is currently in Switzerland as he had to apply for a visa to live in the UK.  This had to be lodged offshore so he and Zara flew out to Switzerland last week.  This also gave them an opportunity to catch up with family members that they hadn't seen in over three years.  We were hoping that the visa would only take a week to process and thanks to answered prayer Simon received notification that the visa has been granted. Simon heads off to Guinea, West Africa in two weeks time to help out with operational flying.  Prayers appreciated for him during this time, Joshua returned to Australia at the beginning of February to pr...

Whirlwind Season

The only word I can use to describe the last two months is a whirlwind.  It was a mixture of packing and selling, say goodbyes and trying to make sure we had everything we needed for our time in Scotland.  It was definitely a time of contrasts as we left Cairns in the upper 30's and and arrived in Scotland to just above freezing.  To Joshua and Zara's delight we had a couple of days of snow and so they got to build their first snowman in years and have a snowball fight.  They weren't dressed for the occasion as you will see below.  MK's what can I say!! The day after arriving in Scotland we went in search of a car.  We were able to find one and picked it up the following week.  This gave us the freedom we needed to move around and start looking for places to live.  It took us a few days to figure out the housing rental market here in Scotland and eventually, after a couple of weeks, we were successful in finding a place not too far from my Mum's....

Answered prayer

This past week we heard that Joshua was accepted to study at QUT, Brisbane starting in February 2023.  It is encouraging to hear so early as it helps Joshua plan for his move from Switzerland back to Australia.  Now the fun begins of settling somewhere new again, finding a home and adjusting to university life.  Thank you for praying along with us on this particular journey.   Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane   We are currently packing and selling our belongings and trying to finish well.  Simon is off to the States next week and praying he makes it home in time for Zara’s graduation. Two of our biggest prayer requests are finding a home in Scotland and a successful visa application outcome for Simon.  We know there will be a few twists and turns along the way but trusting God for what is ahead. Thanks for the teamwork on this one.  We appreciate your prayers and encouragement!
