Whirlwind Season

The only word I can use to describe the last two months is a whirlwind.  It was a mixture of packing and selling, say goodbyes and trying to make sure we had everything we needed for our time in Scotland.  It was definitely a time of contrasts as we left Cairns in the upper 30's and and arrived in Scotland to just above freezing.  To Joshua and Zara's delight we had a couple of days of snow and so they got to build their first snowman in years and have a snowball fight.  They weren't dressed for the occasion as you will see below.  MK's what can I say!!

The day after arriving in Scotland we went in search of a car.  We were able to find one and picked it up the following week.  This gave us the freedom we needed to move around and start looking for places to live.  It took us a few days to figure out the housing rental market here in Scotland and eventually, after a couple of weeks, we were successful in finding a place not too far from my Mum's.  This is an answer to prayer as she is needing more help and so to be closer makes it easier for us.  Thanks to all of you who have been praying as your prayers were answered.  Our move date is the 10th January so this gives us a few days to prepare and get the things that we need.

Simon is currently planning his trip to Liberia in mid January.  He will be gone for around a week to complete some exams. His travel schedule for the year is being planned out and will involve helping out in various programmes in our Africa region.

Zara is in the midst of applying for jobs here in Scotland for her gap year.  We are praying she will be successful and hear soon.  Please pray also as looks to get plugged into a young peoples group.  Covid has had an effect here on youth groups/young people groups in Churches but praying she finds one and can make some good friends.

We are enjoying our time with Joshua before he heads off to Brisbane for University on the 2nd February.  It is so good to be all together after some months apart when he was in Switzerland.  We look forward to what God will do in an through him during his time at University.  Pray he finds a church that he can call "home" and enjoy new friendships.

I am currently looking at what is next for me.  I hope to be involved with MAF in some capacity.  However, some of my time will be focused on caring for my Mum so praying for a good balance.

While we are in Scotland we are also looking to share with churches, groups and catch up with supporters and share about our work with MAF.  If your church would be interested then please don't hesitate to get in touch and we can arrange a time.

Thank you to all of you who have been praying for us in this transition time.  We have definitely known God's guiding hand and look forward to what He has planned for 2023.

So good to do life with this lad

Loving the time with my "boy"
