Family/Work Update

The last time I shared a family update was a few weeks ago. Here is a snapshot of what's been happening lately, otherwise this might read like an epistle. 😊

Simon

In May, Simon was in the States at MAF US Headquarters in Nampa, Idaho. He joined the rest of the team for disaster response and security training. The training was a mixture of both theory and practical scenarios. A photo of the team can be seen below.

In July, Simon will head back down to Guinea, West Africa. Due to the Country Director/pilot family being on leave, he will be the only pilot in the programme. As in any programme, there is always lots to do so, I am sure he will come back with many stories.

Pam

I have been busy in my people care role. As a team, we offer personal care plans to all staff. This enables us to evaluate whether staff have the correct support in place for them to carry out the work they have been called to. It is a rewarding experience as I get to spend time with various staff members.

Another area we are considering offering is remote Bible studies. This is still being thought through in terms of logistics, but an exciting venture may be on the horizon.

In July I will be helping out at MAF's Orientation for new staff at Ashburnham in Kent.  I will leading the session on "Living in a programme" as well as introducing the new people care function.

Apart from MAF, we have been caring for my mother's health needs. In addition, we have been getting involved at our home church.  I also look forward to co-facilitating a Bible study with some ladies at church this week. I would appreciate your prayers as we spend time together.

Joshua

Joshua is doing well, and we are thankful for that. He recently shared his testimony at church, which we were privileged to hear. His decision to be baptised in two weeks is also something to be proud of, but we will miss being there. We feel the miles between us when these occasions happen but thankful, he has good friends to share it with.

He has been applying for different jobs over the last months and the good news is he has been successful in finding one. He will be working in a sports store located not too far from where he lives. Thanks to all of you who have been praying for this.

Zara

We give thanks that Zara is also doing well. She continues with her two jobs here in Scotland as well as working through an online wildlife management course.

Pray for her as she looks to get plugged into a church group with young adults. The friend that she connected with in Scotland has just returned to the States so that has left a gap.

Pray also as to what the future looks like for Zara beyond December that God would guide her clearly.
